Our structure

How ESSS runs.

A Society powered by its members, guided by its Board, and brought to life by staff and volunteers across Ethiopia and beyond.

01 / Governance

From direction to delivery.

  1. The highest body

    General Assembly

The General Assembly is the Society's highest governing body. It sits at the top of the structure, above the Board of Directors and the audit function.

  2. Direction and oversight

    Board of Directors

The Board gives direction to the Secretariat and oversees its work. Standing committees support the Society in specific areas, from science and education to fundraising.

  3. Day-to-day delivery

    Secretariat

Led by the Managing Director, the Secretariat manages daily operations, coordinates programmes and projects, and connects the Society's members, branches and partners.
