Dr. Arega Yirdaw

Chairman of the Society's Board of Directors. An electrical engineer who studied at Addis Ababa University and spent a decade at Ethiopian Airlines, then two decades in aviation and the aerospace industry in the United States, where he took his doctorate. He returned to Ethiopia in 1999 and joined Midroc, which he went on to lead as Chief Executive Officer of Midroc Technology Group while also President of Unity University in Addis Ababa. In 2020 he left the group's helm to become the university's President and Chief Executive Officer.
